It Doesn’t Happen Overnight. Social Media Takes Time.

Read Time: 2.30 Minutes

If there's one thing I would tell people about social network sites: social media, especially entrepreneurs, it would be patience.

Listen, I've been there, I’ve dealt with entrepreneurs, who are impatient and others- crazily impatient. Look, when I was in school, I had this belief- it’s impossible for someone to hit the tarmac for a year without a formal employment, in fact, I always believed; I was raised hard.

Trust me, the reality hits you when you start testing the waters, and the waters were DEEP!
I don’t want to dwell so much on my story, but I’m sure you understand what I mean by deep.
We share ideas based on similar experience, one thing I learnt from that is Patience Pays. Get this right, don’t seat and expect results, DO it! LEARN it! And DO it BETTER.

Social made has made more sense to me. Social, unlike SEM and SEO, unlike email marketing, unlike direct mail, unlike most things is a marathon in a sprint world. Marketing is a sprint, and social media is a marathon - it's all about how well, clean one run his/her marathon till the finish line.

Far more often, it's about lifetime value; the best thing about it, you can shape what people really think about your business, and if they think about it positively- Plain Fact, they will buy the product(s).

How is that possible
Two simple rules
1.    Understand your audience and create relevant content for them.
2.    It does not happen overnight do it over and over, test and measure results.
3.    Follow the results and do it all over again with infinite creativity.

It's about the percentage of wallets spent, and so I would say to take it seriously, but to understand, to get results, you're looking at a little bit of time. You have to bring value first – give them an invaluable reason to sign up and stick by you, but be entitled to get value in return because this is a social platform. It's not just a push platform.

Talking of a Social platform, i’m currently researching how brands should interact with the online community.Remember, its SOCIAL media.

Next article I’ll share my findings… Be sure to check.
