"People don’t buy what you do, they WHY you do it"

"People don’t buy what you do, they WHY you do it"

It's a popular quote by Simon Sinek
You see, it’s probably one of the most confusing punchline that you can ever tell a startup entrepreneur.

Why?

Before we start any business, the first or probably the second thing that comes into our mind is; How I'm I going to make Cash???!
That's the reality. And we should all be driven by all the right reasons - money is one of them.

But Then,

When you think twice about the punchline - It makes more sense when you put yourself into the customer’s shoes.

Why the customer is actually buying your stuff? That question should inspire your WHY.
(Allow me to us the word stuff because that’s what it is until it’s given a meaning)

Why you are doing it ?

You are doing it because there is a certain need you want to fulfill.
It can be either; you want to offer a much easier way of managing employees data using a mobile software, or you want to help shop owners better understand and keep their daily cash transactions easily and more efficiently.

Most people, hate the idea of selling. They want their prospects to come knocking on their door to buy their products. This is achievable of course, but only after the ground work has been put in and you have created a brand that people know, like and trust. Until then, you must get over this fear of selling to people.

Think of it this way, we are selling to people all our lives. Every interview you have been to, every date you have been on, and every time you have voiced your opinion to another person...you have been selling...Yourself.

So how do we sell effectively? Well, there’s a right and wrong way of doing this... (We’ll get into this in my next post)

Start with WHY you think the buyer would want to buy the STUFF.

Structure your pitch on that LINE. Make the potential customer feel Like they are buying your STORY and not your STUFF.
